Dedicated to the liberation of people and communities from poverty and injustice

Education

Education is a fundamental human right, and a powerful tool that can transform lives and combat poverty. But for many people living in the developing world access to quality education and skills training can be very difficult. Partnering with local communities to provide formal and informal educational programs has been a priority of Edmund Rice Mission for decades. In line with the Sustainable Development Goal 4, we work to ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’.

In 2015/16, Edmund Rice Development provided just over €1.1 million in funding to 28 formal and information education projects in 12 countries benefitting 21,572 children.
